The Dutch government recently froze China Wingtech Technology’s control over its Dutch subsidiary Nexperia for national security reasons. After that, the Chinese government simultaneously launched countermeasures and listed Nexperia products produced in China as export control objects. Affected by the suspension of shipments by Anshi and the shortage of semiconductors, Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan will reduce production at its two factories in Japan.
According to Japanese media reports, Nissan Motor stated on the 5th that due to the suspension of shipments of Anshi and the suspension of semiconductor supply, two factories in Japan will reduce production. Nissan's current production cuts target the Oppama Plant and the plants of its subsidiary "Nissan Motors Kyushu". Production will be reduced for one week starting from November 10. The scale of the production reduction is expected to be small, reaching several hundred units. Regarding the situation after November 17, Nissan said that it is "carefully evaluating".
Nissan pointed out that this production reduction is mainly due to delays in the procurement of parts using Nexperia Semiconductors. Production at its bases other than the above-mentioned two factories will not be reduced at this stage.
A Nissan spokesperson said, "We will quickly remedy the situation once supply stabilizes and strive to minimize the impact on vehicle delivery."
