The Golf reported that Portuguese sports defender Diormande was close to transfer to Crystal Palace for a total price of 55 million euros.

Last week, Crystal Palace asked about the conditions for signing the 21-year-old central defender and learned that although the player's liquidated damages were 80 million euros, Portugal Sports was willing to reduce the price to the 50 million to 60 million euros range. The specific amount finally reached by the two sides is 55 million euros, and the details still under negotiation include the future transfer share ratio.

Crystal Palace's main motivation for introducing Diormand was to deal with the increasingly possible departure of England international Guy. The defender has one year left in the contract and has clearly informed the club that he is unwilling to renew the contract. The club's management must seize the last chance this summer to recover funds through the sale, otherwise the player will be free to sign other clubs in January next year.

Diomander believes that Crystal Palace's project is quite attractive. According to The Globe, he is full of expectations for the transfer. On the one hand, he can enter the most exposed Premier League in the world, and on the other hand, he can join the club in the rising period. There are no obstacles in terms of the contract terms, Diormand will receive a five-year contract, and his salary will be far more than the current annual salary of 500,000 euros after tax in Portugal Sports. The deal will also benefit the Sino-Jet club, which retained a 20% second transfer share right when they sold the Ivory Coast defender to Portugal Sports for 7.5 million euros (including additional terms) in 2023.
