According to TA reports, Fulham bosses have informed head coach Marco Silva that they hope to renew his contract, and Silva's current contract contains a release clause worth about 15 million pounds.
Reports revealed that before hiring Sean Dyche, Nottingham Forest considered Silva as a candidate to succeed Postkoglu. The Portuguese coach previously worked for Forest boss Marinakis at Olympiacos and the two still maintain a mutual relationship.
Silva's current contract will expire at the end of this season, and his last contract extension was in October 2023. Although detailed contract renewal negotiations have not yet begun, both parties have shown good intentions. Silva himself confirmed that he had met with owner Shahid Khan and was informed that he was part of the club's future plans. When asked if he would stay longer at the club after five years in charge, he replied: "Why not?"
Silva, 48, is in his fifth season at Fulham. Not only did he lead the team back to the Premier League, but he also achieved 10th, 13th and 11th place in the following seasons, ending the team's decade-long "one-season tour" in the top league, and set a new club Premier League record of 54 points in the 2024-25 season.
