The Athletic reported that Chelsea is close to loan from Brighton midfielder Bonanott.
Chelsea is approaching a deal to loan the player after Leeds United's bid for Brighton offensive midfielder Bonanot failed. Leeds United had originally booked a flight on Thursday afternoon and planned to pick up Bonanot to West Yorkshire, but the player did not eventually board the plane.
Previously, Brighton had been negotiating loan with Leeds United. If the deal was reached, the Argentine international would continue to stay in the Premier League and was expected to be awarded the status of "local training player" from January next year. The Premier League team once believed confidently that they had negotiated a deal with Brighton and the players themselves and arranged a physical examination for Bonanot.
However, the one who is expected to sign Bonanot is the Club World Cup champion Chelsea. Last season, Bonanot played for Leicester City on loan, contributing 6 goals and 3 assists in 35 games.
Chelsea have been looking for an offensive midfielder, who had previously been interested in Leipzig's Xavi Simmons, but the latter has now agreed to join Tottenham. Barcelona's Felmin was also one of Chelsea's goals.
